Chapter 10

Sarah said...

Brandon sighed. "Hope you had fun." He said as we stopped in front of my house.
I smiled. "I did."
"We'll have to do this again." He said.
"Absolutely." I said smiling as I got out of the car. I went inside and my Mom and Mark jumped away from the curtain quickly.
I laughed. "You guys are stupid." I said.
Mom smiled.
"No. There was no goodbye kiss, okay?" I said.
"Why not?" Mark asked.
"Isn't he a bit old for you?" Mom asked.
"He's NOT my boyfriend. You can both chill." I said.
"Then why are you glowing?" Mom asked.
I giggled and blushed. "I'm not. I gotta call CeCi." I said. I went running to my bedroom.
CeCi was my cousin and only other close female friend of mine besides Dina. "C!" I said when she answered.
She laughed. "Someone's happy."
"I guess." I said.
"You guess?" She asked.
"I just spent like all night with Brandon." I said.
"Holy shit!" She laughed. "Did you sleep with him?"
"NO!" I laughed. "I really wanted to though. . ."
"I called last night and your Mom was talking my ear off about you and Austin." She said.
"I think I like Brandon more though." I said. "He's older."
She laughed. "True. . ."
"And cuter." I whispered.
She giggled. "True."
"What do I do?" I asked.
"Go for it. Isn't he going to BU too?" She asked.
"Yeah."
"So it would be perfect." She said.
"I think we should wait though. Have more nights like last night first." I said.
"You're going to wait again? How can you wait?" She asked. She laughed. "My gosh."
"Shut up." I said.
"I know you want it to be special and all, but come on. Seriously." She said.
"C. . ."
"T. . ." She giggled.
"Shut up." I said.
"Just do it already!" She said.
I laughed. "Dina use to tell me that all the time."
"And she would still be telling you! Just do it!" She laughed.
"Grrrr."
"Brandon is like a freakin' sex god and you would be insane to not go for it." She said.
I started laughing. "Sounds like you want to go for it."
"I would if I could, but I can't so I won't." She said.
I laughed.
"Do it and give me all the details. Later." She said and hung up.
I set down the phone. "Austin is here!" I heard my Mom shout. I rushed out of my room to the living room. I gave him a hug. "Don't think I've ever had someone so happy to see me before." He laughed.
I grabbed his hand. "Let's talk." I giggled. We went to my bedroom and I closed the door. I heard tip toeing in the hallway. I rolled my eyes. "Austin, I'm pregnant. With your baby." I said.
"WHAT?" Mom and Mark both said at the same time. I opened the door. "Stop being so nosey!" I said. They were both standing there. Austin gave me a strange look. "I heard them out there, so I decided to mess with them." I said.
"Oh." He said.
Mom and Mark walked away. I closed the door. "I was so confused. I was wondering if we had sex the other night and I didn't remember."
I laughed. "Yeah right." I said.
He shrugged his shoulders.
"Like anybody would forget about Taylor sex." I said.
"Shut up." He said grabbing my hand. He pulled me close to him.
"I think I like Brandon." I said as he put his arms around me. He pulled them back away quickly. "Brandon Summers?" He asked. "As in Dina's brother?"
"Yeah." I said. "Oh there is something I've been wanting to tell you." I said.
"Why are you suddenly interested in Brandon?" He asked.
"He's really sweet." I said.
"And what the fuck am I? A dickhead?" He asked as he stood up.
"No. Of course not!" I said.
"Then what the fuck is going on here?" He asked sounding mad.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
He shook his head. "Forget it." He said. "See ya." He quickly walked to the door and left.
"Austin!" I yelled. I ran after him and was able to stop him right as he was about to get in his car. "There is something I wanted to talk to you about." I said.
"What?" He asked rudly as if he didn't have time to talk.
"It's about Dina. Calm down." I said. "Goodness."
"What about her?" He asked.
"She had a crush on you. I thought you'd have fun reading some of the things she wrote about you in her journal." I said.
"You think that would be FUN for me?" He asked. "She is gone, Taylor. Gone. I don't care to hear about people who are now dead that use to have a crush on me."
I felt my eyes start to tear up. He opened his car door and sat down.
"Fuck you." I said. He looked up at me as I started to cry more. The look on his face made me even more sad. I couldn't beleive I had said those two words to him. I had never said that to anyone before. I ran back inside. I heard him shout my name as I slammed the door. I went to my bedroom and slammed that door too. "What is going on here?" I heard my Mom ask.
"I don't know." Mark said to her. Just then, Austin walked into the room.
"I don't want to talk to you." I said.
He closed the door. "I'm sorry." He said.
"I can't move past all this with you being around." I said. "Every time I see you, you just remind me about it and you make me feel worse."
"Maybe you're just stronger than me." He said.
"You don't have to tell me she's gone!" I shouted. "I know she is gone!"
"What did she write about me?" He asked.
"None of your business." I told him.
He sat down on the bed next to me. "Show me. We'll read it together." He said.
"No."
"Fine." He said. "Fuck you."
He left the room and I felt like crap. I felt like throwing my computer out the window. I was so mad! I just sat there sitting in the corner of my bedroom crying for at least an hour. When I was finally able to stop, there was a knock on my bedroom door. "Can I come in?" I heard. It was Brandon.
"Yeah." I said as I walked to my vanity and fixed my smeared makeup.
"Mark called me." He said. "He said you were really upset."
He closed the door and walked up to me. "Austin and I had a fight." I said. I took a deep breath and looked at him.
"Is everything okay? I was on my way to the gym." He said. He looked cute. He was wearing a dark colored Yankees hat, a wife beater and jeans. I smiled.
"Oh look at that. A smile." He said.
I giggled.
"And laughter. Damn I'm good!" He said.
We both laughed. He sat down on the edge of my bed. He picked up Dina's journal that was laying next to him. "Any good gossip?" He asked.
I smiled and nodded. "But not for you to read." I said taking it from him.
"I wasn't going to read it." He said. "That's all between you and her."
I smiled and set it down on my dresser.
"I think I am going to skip the gym." He said. I noticed him checking me out when I looked up at my mirror.
I turned around quickly. I was always shy about that kind of thing. Luken hated how self contious I was about my body too. "Come here." He said smiling.
"What?" I asked.
"Come here." He laughed.
"Why?"
"Just come here." He said.
My heart started pounding. I could feel it through my chest. I walked over to him. He spread his legs and pulled me close to him. He put his arms around me. He reached one arm up my back and ran his fingers up and down my neck. I smiled. "You have the cutest little nose." He said.
I rolled my eyes and giggled. I felt myself blush too. "I very badly want to kiss you right now." He said softly. I heard a light tap on my door. "Damnit!" I said.
"What?" He said taking his arms away from me.
"Not you." I said.
I ran to my door and opened it just in time to see Mom and Mark turned down the hallway. "Stop!" I shouted to them. I closed the door. Brandon stood up. "We'll do this some other time." He said.
"No, it's okay." I said.
He laughed. "I'm gonna hit the gym." He said. He places his hand on my shoulder and squeezed ligtly. He smiled. "Bye." He said, then left.
"AHH!" I shouted when I heard his car start outside.
