I could have sworn I heard my parents talking, but all I could see was black spots. I couldn't move and I couldn't speak. I felt something softly touch the right side of my neck. "She wasn't wearing this when she left." I heard my Mom say. I felt safer when I realized I must have still had my pearl necklace on. I heard my Mom start tp cry. I tried to tell her I was okay, but no sound came out of my mouth. Suddenly, everything got silent. "Am I dead?" I thought to myself. "Am I dreaming?" I was able to open my eyes this time. I saw a young nurse standing beside my bed filling something out on her clipboard. She jumped when she glanced my way, then giggled. "I'm sorry. I wasn't expecting you to wake up." She said. "How are you feeling?" I tried my hardest to answer her, but once again, no sound came out of my mouth. "Move one of your fingers if you can hear me." She said taking as she put her hand over mine. I looked down at her hand and tried my very hardest to move it, but it wouldn't move. "You're highly medicated." The nurse told me. "You are probably numb from the medicine, but I know you understood me. Your eyes shifted right down to your hand when I asked you to move a finger." The nurse smiled. "I'm your nurse for the rest of the evening. My name is Andrea. Your doctor is Dr. Joe. Your stats look great. I think you're going to have a full recovery." She said. "Alrighty, I have to go let Dr. Joe know that you're awake, so he can call your parents and check up on you." She took off her gloves and washed her hands. She looked back at me. She walked over to me and smiled. "No need to cry." She said. "Your surgery went great and you'll be out of here in no time." I was so confused. I didn't know what was going on. My vision started to get a little blurry, I figured it was my tears getting in the way. I had no idea I was even crying, but I took the Andrea's word for it. She left the room and Dr. Joe walked in soon after. "As soon as this is empty, you should regain all your feeling. This is some strong stuff." He said as he flicked the tube next to my bed. I looked down at my arm and noticed I had three IV's in my left arm. "You had some major head trauma and your brain is still swelled." He said. "It's gone down a lot though and it should be back to normal by tomorrow or Friday. Your parents will be here shortly, but I can only let them see you for ten minutes or so. I need you to get some rest." He brushed some hair away from my eyes and left the room. I looked up at the clock and stared at it until my parents walked into the room. "Oh my god." My Mother said as tears started streaming down her face. My Dad walked over to me. "You really gave us a scare." He told me. All I could do was look at him. "I can't beleive you were drinking." my Mom said. "Not now, Tracy." my Father said. "Ted, it is just not like her. Someone must have spiked her drink at that party." She said. He looked down at me. "You're upseting her." He shouted. Dr. Joe walked in. "She needs her rest now. And she needs to be stress free." He said staring straight at my Mom. "I apologize." She told Dr. Joe. "We'll see you soon, sweetie." my Dad said. He kissed my forehead and they both left.
