I grasped the remote next to me and pushed the button to call for my nurse. I smiled when I realized I could move my hands. I lifted my arms and rotated my hands in circles. Andrea walked in right then. "You look great." She said smiling.
I smiled. "I feel okay."
"And you're speaking." She said.
"I am, aren't I?" I said giggling.
"Let me get you some water." She said. She left the room. She walked back in a few minutes later. Dr. Joe was behind her. "Looks like we can move you into recovery." He said. He began to pinch me slightly in several spots on my body while asking me if she could feel it. I was thrilled that when I was able to say I felt every pinch. I looked down at my arm and I no longer had any IV's in it. "I notified your parents that you woke up." He said.
"What happen to me?" I asked.
He looked at Andrea and they both got confused looks on their faces. "You were in an accident." She said.
"Oh dear." Dr. Joe said looking concerned. "Get me her card." He told her. She rushed out the door and rushed back in with a card in her hand.
"Can you tell me your full name, address and phone number?" He asked me.
I recited it all. It was all correct. "What is the last thing you remember?" He asked me.
I thought long and hard. "I was in my boyfriends Jeep." I said. "Dina was there and Austin was there."
"Uh huh." He said.
My eyes started to tear up. "We were singing to the radio when Luken turned it up. That's all I remember." I said.
"You were in a head on colision." He said. "You weren't wearing your seatbelt. You flew thirty feet from the car."
I was speechless.
"That's about all I can tell you. Your parents have the police report." He said. "Your parents will be here shortly. They'll be able to answer any questions you've got. Okay?"
"Okay." I said, trying not to cry.
He left the room.
"We'll be able to take that neck brace off at six tonight." Andrea said. "Hopefully get you walking tomorrow."
"Thanks." I said.
My parents stepped into the room.
"How is Luken?" I asked as tears streamed down my face. "And Dina? Is Dina okay? And Austin?"
They both looked at eachother. "We don't know." my father said.
"We havn't spoken to their parents yet." my Mother added. I could always tell when my Mother was lying and it worried me to death at that moment. I had a very hard time beleiving her.
