I layed in bed crying. I turned over and buried my head in my pillow. My Father had just filled me on on everything that had happen. Austin was the only one of us wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. We had hit the car coming at us head on. The police report stated that Austin saw the car coming at us and tried to warn Luken as he swerved into the lane of oncoming traffic. He was going 80 on the main road when the speed limit was 35. Austin had to be cut out of the car. I saw the pictures. The jeep was completely unrecognizable. It didn't even look like a vehicle, because it was smashed so much. They rushed all four of us to the hospital. Austin was released the next day with some sratches and bruises. He had a minor concusion, but he was in better shape than the rest of us. I had a broken collar bone and head trauma. They did some surgery on my head to stop the bleeding. I was in a coma for a month. They said I was lucky to be alive. My heart shattered when I found out Luken was pronounced dead on the scene and Dina died in the hospital within minutes of arriving. I didn't know what to do. All I could do was lay there and cry. I had missed both of their funerals, because I was in a when they took place. My Mother offered to take me to see their graves, but I wasn't ready to. I heard my door open. "Please just let me be alone." I sobbed. I heard the door close. "Taylor." I heard. It was Austin. I turned over and my back. He climbed onto my bed and layed down next to me with his hand around my waste. He sighed. "It was horrible." He said. "When they cut me out of the jeep and I saw. . ." His eyes began to water. I put my hand on the back his head and pulled him close to me. "I saw Dina on the side of the road." I wiped my eyes. "She must have looked pretty bad." I sobbed. "Yeah. I kept calling her name." He said. "We were best friends since 5th grade." I said. Austin put his arms around me and pulled me on top of him. He held me tight. We just layed there crying for a few minutes until I sat up. "Her Mom is going to want me to go through her things with her, but I can't do it." I said. "I'm sure she'll wait till you're ready." He said. I nodded. "You know what Luken told me the morning of graduation?" He said. I turned toward him. "What?" "He told me that if anything ever happen to him, to watch over you for him." He said. I leaned down and hugged him again. "I'm so glad that one of you are still here with me." I sobbed. "Anything I can do that will make you feel better, just let me know." He said. I sat up again. "I want a beer." I said. "Is that horrible?" He sat up and put his hand on my leg. "Not at all." "But beer is what caused all this." I said. "None of us were in the right frame of mind, Taylor. None of us. Don't blame anyone for this. It was just their time to go to heaven." He said. I shrugged my shoulders. "Please don't blame yourself." He said. "Can we just not talk about this right now?" I asked. "Yeah. It's all anyone wants to talk about. I can't take it anymore." He said. "Can we just go somewhere?" I asked. "I don't want to be here anymore." "Come with me to Tracy's." He said. "He's having a few people over." "I don't know. . ." "We'll have fun. Get our minds off everything." He said. "Okay." I said. "Let me take a shower." "Take as much time as you need to." He said smiling. "Thanks." I said. I gave him a hug and headed to the bathroom. I took a long shower. I cried a little, but tried to tell my self to be strong. I went back to my bedroom and got in my closet. I packed a few things, then did my hair and makeup. "Wow. You look hot." He said. I giggled. "You ready?" He asked. "Yeah. Let me go talk to my Mom real quick." I said. He smiled at me. I walked out to the kitchen wear my Mom was cooking something. "Mom, is it okay if I go out tonight? I'm going to hang out with Austin and some of his friends." I asked. "Of course, sweetie. You need to get out, it'll be good for you." She said. "I might be gone for the night. I'm not sure." I said. "Okay. Call me if you need to be picked up." She said. She gave me a hug. "I will." I said. I gave her another hug and left with Austin. When we got to Tracy's, Dryden and Calven were there. "Taylor." Calven said smiling. He stood up and gave me a hug. "Hi." I said. "How are you doing?" He asked as he let go of me. "Hangin in there." I said. Austin sat down on the floor next to them. I sat down in front of him. "So I think next time we need a key collector person like on the movie Say Anything." Dryden said. We all giggled. Dryden pulled a pipe out of his pocket. I looked back at Austin. "It's okay." He whispered. He put his arms around me. I watched him load it, take a few hits, then pass it to Calven. I was surprised to see him take a few hits too. He handed it to me. "No thanks." I said. Austin took it from me. "You don't mind if I do. Do you?" He asked softly. "Well. . ." I said. "Where are we staying?" "You guys are welcome to stay here. My parents are gone for three days, so you can crash in my room. I'll sleep in my parents room." Tracy said. "It's up to you." Austin told me. "Yeah. We can do that." I said. Austin took a three hits and offered it to me. I giggled. "I don't know how." I said. "You just saw all of us do it, silly." He said. "I know." I said. He demonstrated again and helped me. I felt silly when I started coughing. "Round of beers?" Tracy asked as he stood up. We all said yes. He left the room. "Do you do this regulary?" I asked Austin. "No. Probably about once a month or so when I hang out with these guys." He said. "I am surprised to see you doing it too." I told Calven. He smiled and looked a little embarassed. I had a crush on Calven Stuart for years, until I met Luken. Calven went to the same church as me and he was the only reason I could get myself up in the morning to go each Sunday. He had the most beautiful blue eyes and I always loved his dusty blonde hair that fell over his eyes. I started to feel a little weird. Tracy walked back in the room and handed us each a beer. He sat down near me. I stared at him and noticed her had a pimple in the middle of his chin. "What?" He asked. "Why are you looking at me like that?" "I never noticed that before." I said pointing. Everyone started laughing. "Thanks for noticing. Now I'll never be self contious about it again." He said sarcastically. I giggled and layed down on the floor. I rested my head in Austin's lap. He started playing with my hair as they all started to talk about music. I closed my eyes and tried to just focus on listening to Austin's voice. I started laughing when I heard him use the word boob. "What?" He asked. "You said boob." I said, still laughing. I started laughing even harder. "I didn't say boob." He said.
